NICQ Next 2 Collaborative Structure & Features

Internet-Based Activities

      •   Four (4) live Webinars will be provided annually, focused on quality improvement methods and NICQ Next2 themes. computer networkWebinars will be recorded and available for viewing. Both live and recorded Webinar viewing will provide continuing education credits for medicine (CME) and nursing (CNE).

Webinar dates for 2016 are February 10, May 25, October 26 and November 30. All Webinars are held on Wednesdays at 3pm ET.

          • Homerooms will conduct regular WebEx sessions structured to provide additional improvement learning, sharing of improvement experiences, and agenda planning for face-to-face meetings.
          • Access to VON’s Learning Management System, which will launch in 2016 supporting QI collaboratives.  The Learning Management System will provide access to general and Homeroom-specific resources; including Toolkits, templates, checklists, and educational sessions providing CME/CNE.
          • Moderated Listserv discussion forum, complimented by discussion threads on the VON Learning Management System. Participants will have the option to subscribe to discussion threads of interest and receive email notifications of new posts to that discussion.

All NICQ Next2 Spring Meeting 2016

        • Goalsmeetingaroundtable
          Ensure all teams have a strong foundation in QI methods, plans for integrating family- centered care, improvement project measurement strategies, and advance team maturity.
        • Methods
          Plenary sessions to focus on collaborative-wide themes such as family-centered care and expanding engagement of the unit team.
          Clinics / Workshops to address themes of resourcing teams with tools, skills and resources; and, embedding quality improvement methods throughout the experience.
          Time with teams working on the same overarching improvement topic (Homerooms) to advance team function and develop plans of action to conduct several PDSA cycles for reporting through development of abstracts and posters for the annual meeting in Chicago in the fall of 2016.
        • Time and Location
          Monday, April 4 – Wednesday, April 6, 2016
          Sessions will begin mid-morning om Monday, April 4th and the meeting will adjourn in the early afternoon of Wednesday, April 6th. A detailed agenda will be provided in February, 2016.The meeting will be hosted at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront, Jacksonville, Florida.

        • Attendees
          Each center’s NICQ Next2 fees include registration for up to 4 intradisciplinary team members and 1 parent for the spring meeting. Teams are welcome to register additional individuals. There will be a registration fee for additional attendees (current estimate is $260 per person). Teams are responsible for the cost of transportation, accommodation, meals not provided at the meeting and other associated expenses.

ONSITE Spring Meeting 2017

                  • For ONSITEs, each Homeroom convenes at a designated pre-selected host site.
                  • Teams engage in focused small group work sessions at the host site.
                  •  Mutually developed goals / agenda building based on host site’s strengths and visiting teams’ clinical aims and interests.
                  • Provides opportunity for in depth exploration of and immersion into the local unit context, culture, and care processes.
                  • An updated suite of meeting planning modules, meeting registration, and CEU support will be provided to the ONSITE host centers.

NICQ Symposium and Annual Quality Congress – Chicago

Friday, September 9 – Monday, September 12, 2016
Thursday, October 26 – Sunday, October 29, 2017

                    • Special invitation for NICQ Next2 teams with targeted plenary sessions and Homeroom sessions, held in conjunction with the VON Annual Quality Congress.
                    • One full day of Homeroom time; two days attending the Annual Quality Congress; and, one day focused on quality improvement stories presented by each Homeroom in a plenary session, followed by additional Homeroom time on Monday, September 12.
                    • Complimentary registration for up to four (4) intradisciplinary team members, as well as 2 parents and 2 senior leaders, to the 3-day event (Annual Quality Congress and NICQ Symposium) plus a full day of Homeroom collaboration, included in the NICQ Next2 fee.

Continuing Education Credits / Maintenance of Certification Part 4

            • The educational activities associated with NICQ Next have been approved for Continuing Medical Education and Nursing Contact Hours credit.
            • The NICQ Next Collaborative has been approved by the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) as a source of Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Part 4 credit for those participating physicians who meet the criteria established by the ABP. Both individual physicians, as well as teams of physicians may submit this work for credit.
