All Care is Brain Care

Reducing Pain and Pokes

About this VON QI Collaborative Topic

Infants can experience prolonged periods of pain and discomfort in intensive care, which can negatively affect long-term outcomes and development.

In this topic group of the All Care is Brain Care collaborative, teams will learn from expert faculty and each other to explore and implement evidence-based potentially better practices that:

  • reduce the requirement for discomfort and painful treatments
  • increase skin-to-skin care
  • optimize pain management
  • improve the experience of intensive care for infants and their families
