COVID-19 Update from VON
The coronavirus pandemic has created severe uncertainty and disruption for VON members. We are here to support you and your team however we can.
These unprecedented times will require new workflows and flexibility, and we assure you that VON will work in partnership with members to best accomplish our shared goals for improvement in newborn care. While plans and deadlines may shift, please know that you have our full support to address issues stemming from the disruption caused by the global spread of COVID-19. We do not expect VON services or support to be interrupted.
Please see below for information affecting VON members as the situation evolves. We appreciate your patience, understanding, and partnership as we all work through this unprecedented situation.
Data Submission and Birth Year 2019 Finalization
We understand the COVID-19 pandemic has severely disrupted many lives and workflows for our members. In order to provide more time to address the issues stemming from this disruption, we have decided to move the Report Contact finalization date to July 17, 2020.
Recognizing that different regions and centers face varied challenges, we encourage centers that have not yet completed the Report Contact finalization to strive to complete the process as early, and as close to the regular June 1 deadline, as possible.
If you have questions about your center’s finalization status, please check with your center’s Report or Data Contact or with your VON Account Manager.
All webinars and virtual offerings related to QI programs will go on as planned. The recorded webinars will be available online for those teams that cannot attend the live webinar. In-person meetings related to VON QI programs are being evaluated on a case by case basis and communicated accordingly.
Annual Quality Congress
After much consideration, we have determined it would not be responsible to gather in person for our annual meeting in 2020. We recognize the added value of gathering together to accelerate your team’s improvement work and we are exploring innovative solutions to facilitate collaboration virtually. We will offer an enhanced virtual poster session to celebrate and share improvement work, and we will recognize 2020 AAP/VON Scholars. Please check for more updates and information on the Annual Quality Congress page of the VON website.
All VON staff are working remotely and are fully equipped to conduct business as usual. Please continue to contact your account manager, program coordinator, or VON technical support as you normally would by phone or email.
