Clinical Trials

Vermont Oxford Network conducts important pragmatic clinical trials that answer practical questions and provide early access to promising new therapies. The goals are to promote evidence-based practice in neonatal health care and to conduct pragmatic, high-quality randomized clinical trials on practical questions facing neonatal clinicians in an efficient and timely manner.

VON clinical trials are modeled after the National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit in Oxford, England, which pioneered large-scale pragmatic trials integrating research into daily practice. Members of the Vermont Oxford Network participate in VON trials on a voluntary basis.
