NICQ participants will spend time learning with and from colleagues and faculty about improvements to Critical Transitions, reviewing evidence, and sharing improvement stories, data and lessons learned. Log in for NICQ details.
iNICQ Improving Critical Transitions
Friday, October 1
iNICQ participants will network with other teams working to improve critical transitions, learn from other’s improvement stories, and take a deeper dive into the Improving Critical Transitions’ Key Drivers in smaller concurrent sessions. Log in for iNICQ details.
Audits: The Right Tool to Improve Your Practice?

Neonatal Advanced Practice Providers Case of the Year
Wednesday, October 13, 3:00-4:00 p.m.
An intriguing, clinical case presentation to challenge your critical thinking and diagnostic skills. The case will be conveyed in a mystery format in short unfolding segments. The goal is for participants to determine the diagnosis and best multidisciplinary management strategies for this challenging case. Submit a case by August 24, 2021.
AAP/VON Scholars Presentations
Thursday, October 14, 2:00-4:00 p.m.
An opportunity for the 2021 AAP/VON Scholars to present their quality improvement interests, to hear talks on starting QI as a fellow and continuing it as an early career neonatologist, and to ask questions of faculty and scholars. See more about the AAP/VON Scholar Awards.
Jump Starting Quality – Foundations Workshop

Hear from expert QI faculty on the basics of QI project development, to interact with our faculty in small group breakout sessions, and to ask your questions of our faculty during the Ask the Experts panel. Limited enrollment. Details and agenda coming soon.
Improving Critical Transitions - Plenary Event
Wednesday, October 20, 11:00 a.m. – 5:15 p.m.
Participants will engage with VON NICQ Care Expert faculty and families in conversations about clinical topics related to improving Critical Transitions. See details and agenda.
Jump Starting Quality – Advanced Workshop
Tuesday, October 26, 2:00-4:00 p.m.
Hear from expert QI faculty on QI data analysis, run charts, and control charts. This will feature both didactic sessions and interactive portions with ample opportunity for questions of our expert faculty. Limited enrollment. Details and agenda coming soon.
March of Dimes and VON - Improving Life Beyond the NICU
Thursday, October 28, 3:00-4:00 p.m.
March of Dimes and VON present their learning from a focus group with parents to identify opportunities to better support NICU families through the transition to home and life after the NICU. Details and agenda coming soon.
All events are included with registration. To attend NICQ and iNICQ Improving Critical Transitions events, the center must be enrolled in the relevant collaborative. Please note limited space for Jump Starting Quality workshops.

- Groups enrolled in VON Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome programs: No fee
- Core Members: $100
- Non-Members of VON: $200
Fellows, trainees, members of TECaN, professionals from low and middle-income countries, and presenting faculty not in a quality improvement collaborative are welcome to attend free of charge by registering as VON Core Member or Non-Member and using the discount code of COMP at the end of the registration process to waive all fees.

AAP/VON Scholar Awards
This award recognizes future leaders in quality improvement in partnership with the AAP Section on Neonatal Perinatal Medicine.

VON’s Annual Quality Congress represents the worldwide community of practice dedicated to improving the quality, safety, and value of care for newborn infants and their families. VON’s Annual Quality Congress faculty includes world leaders in neonatology, improvement science, and parent partners. Attend with your team and be inspired to innovate and accelerate improvement in your unit and beyond.
We encourage discussion and networking to learn about rapidly evolving science, technology, and evidence-based practices. Participants learn from peers and partner with families to transform data into actionable improvement.
