Vermont Oxford Network presents a free virtual concert of music and dance from Addis Ababa’s world-renowned arts venue, Fendika, in support of our global community confronting COVID-19.

As we come together as a global community in a worldwide pandemic, we are reminded that we have much in common. We invite you to join us for ‘A Night at Fendika’, a virtual concert of music and dance from Addis Ababa’s world-renowned arts venue. The amazing positive energy exuded by Fendika founder, Melaku Belay, and his traditional band and dance group, Ethiocolor is contagious and promises to lift all spirits.

About Fendika

Fendika is a cultural center and music group in Addis Ababa committed to the preservation and development of traditional Ethiopian music culture. Cultural leaders like Fendika founder Melaku Belay integrate the arts and medicine communities by bringing people together to share joy, peace, and love. These are central to the health and well-being of our global society. In the difficult time of COVID-19, their music is love; their music is medicine.

About VON Global Health Initiatives

Our long-term partnerships with health care providers enable sustainable data-driven quality improvement.

Our dedicated community of volunteers share expertise in neonatal care, serve as partners in QI initiatives, mentor international trainees, and advocate for our worldwide neonatal community. VON’s Global Neonatal Database serves as the platform and common language for quality improvement for the twenty large public and academic hospital members of the Ethiopian Neonatal Network.
